Winterbike Recap
March 6, 2020
"The New Chapter"

My how we've grown up!
This year represented a new chapter for Winterbike. We had a new host venue, new partnerships, new trail layout and a new approach to shaping the event. Though a raucous hoard of 500 plus riders would have been fun, we settled on a "Quality not quantity" motto for year nine. The result? The event had a vibe reminiscent of simpler times. Times when you could connect with just about every attendee to ride and celebrate.
We are so thankful to the beautiful village of East Burke and its locals for the being such gracious hosts and to the landowners for extending such courtesy. Thank you for allowing trails and riders on your property!
This year was also unique in that we received the most outstanding support from vendors, collaborators and sponsors we've ever had. Thank you so much to our presenting partners Burke Mountain Resort, Clif and Lawson's Finest liquids for making this event possible. In addition, big thanks to our supporting partners at Mike's Tiki Bar, East Burke Sports, Cafe Lotti, East Burke Market, Specialized, Kingdom Adventures, Craftsbury General Store, Bourne's Energy and Minus33.
Lastly, thank you! For many of us, the event is more like a holiday then a festival because it attracts friends and family from near and far. Thanks for keeping the vibe and roots of the event alive! Thanks for celebrating cycling, exchanging stories, and making new memories with us.
We appreciate the vote of confidence you place in us year over year. So, folks, here's to Winterbike 2020 and beyond. Thanks for helping writing a new chapter.
Next year's event will be held on February 20, 2021 and capped registration for 250 people is already live! From now until April 30th, we are running an early bird special for general admission which includes lunch, a beverage and all the good times that you can handle! Sincerely,
The MTBVT & KT Crew

KT is taking action—on the trails and in the Statehouse!
This 2025 Legislative Session, KT is teaming up with other amazing trail organizations through the Vermont Trails & Greenway Council, to advocate for H.147 a bill to establish the Recreational Trails Compensation Study.
Why does this matter?
Vermont’s outdoor recreation economy generates $2.1B annually, nearly 5% of the state’s GDP, that's 2nd in the nation after Hawaii (Go VT!) KT alone drives $10M in economic impact annually. Therefore, the state must recognize and incentivize these generous private landowners, including the 106 who make KT possible and allow public access to trails.
