Burke Fall Foliage Festival: Saturday September 24, 2022

September 20, 2022

Expect Road Closures and Slow Moving Traffic in the Village of East Burke.

This Saturday September 24th The Burke Fall Foliage Festival returns to the village of East Burke after a couple of years off!  If you are planning a visit to the trails this weekend, there are a couple of very important details to note:

On Saturday from 9:45 AM-10:45 AM, Rte 114 will be closed for the parade from Darling Park to the East Burke Fire Station. To bypass the village, if coming from Lyndonville, take a right off Rte 114 on Mt. Hunger Rd. and take it all the way to the Mountain Rd.

The Crown Connection Community Shuttle will NOT run on Saturday the 24th.

Shuttle

There will be NO road crossings during the parade. You must wait until the parade is over to cross the closed section of the road. Please plan accordingly.

Mike's Tiki Bar parking lot will be open, but expect heavier than usual traffic in that area. We recommend parking at another parking location. The Dashney Lot or Burke Mtn's Sherburne Base Lodge lot are recommended if taking the Mt.Hunger Rd.village bypass route. KT Parking locations.

Throughout Saturday the 24th, East Burke Village will be hustling and bustling with festival goers. Expect congestion and slow moving traffic. Please drive slowly.

Vermont State Treasurer, Mike Pieciak, speaks at the 2025 Outdoor Recreation Day at the Statehouse
By Abby Long February 13, 2025
KT is taking action—on the trails and in the Statehouse! This 2025 Legislative Session, KT is teaming up with other amazing trail organizations through the Vermont Trails & Greenway Council, to advocate for H.147 a bill to establish the Recreational Trails Compensation Study. Why does this matter? Vermont’s outdoor recreation economy generates $2.1B annually, nearly 5% of the state’s GDP, that's 2nd in the nation after Hawaii (Go VT!) KT alone drives $10M in economic impact annually. Therefore, the state must recognize and incentivize these generous private landowners, including the 106 who make KT possible and allow public access to trails.
