May 2021

The summer is off and running and we are excited to have the full trail crew on board as of this week. Now we're really gonna jam!

May trail projects completed:

Much needed revamp of the village pump track!
Bridging on Kirby Connector over wet areas.
New School trail realignment by landowner request
1/4 Mile White School hardening and drainage improvements that make the trail:

More inclusive to adaptive riders
More sustainable with less bridges to maintain and allowed for better drainage.
Difficulty rating consistent from end to end.
Tie in with New School to make it part of a 6.5 mile beginner loop from town.
Much improved fat bike grooming

We would like to share a special thank you to KT Landowner Al Beaupre who donated machine work time and material on a section of the New School Trail on his property. We are honored to be given access to the properties on the Kingdom Trail network and it is beyond words to also receive time, energy and resources towards the KTA mission from generous landowners as well.

Road Work on East Darling Hill will begin June 25 for widening the road. This will lightly effect the trails but no access will change.

The next Volunteer Work Day is scheduled for June 26th, and sponsored by Lawson's Finest Liquids!

KT is taking action—on the trails and in the Statehouse!

KT is taking action—on the trails and in the Statehouse! This 2025 Legislative Session, KT is teaming up with other amazing trail organizations through the Vermont Trails & Greenway Council, to advocate for H.147 a bill to establish the Recreational Trails Compensation Study. Why does this matter? Vermont’s outdoor recreation economy generates $2.1B annually, nearly 5% of the state’s GDP, that's 2nd in the nation after Hawaii (Go VT!) KT alone drives $10M in economic impact annually. Therefore, the state must recognize and incentivize these generous private landowners, including the 106 who make KT possible and allow public access to trails.
