July 2022

                                                                                                                                                                                                                      2022 KT Trail Crew

So far this summer, KT Crew, volunteers and contracted builders have installed 2.94 miles of new trail to help avoid 2.4 miles of road! With guidance from last year's complete capacity study, we focused primarily on providing safe connections for trail access by bypassing travel on the roads. Our next Volunteer Trail Work Day will be Saturday August 27th, please email lukas@kingdomtrails.org to be added to the volunteer contact list.

Trail Projects Completed July 1- August 12, 2022:

  • The new phase 4 section of Shonter's Shuffle is COMPLETE!  We're pretty excited as this trail has been a long time coming with permitting, grants, and tons of logistics to pull together to make it happen. Built in collaboration with the Ideride crew and of course the landowners, Rick Prescott & Sally Schlueter as well as Rick & Claire Shonter, this new addition to the network is a mechanized build with numerous areas of rock armoring along with berms and rollers. We are most excited about the fact that this newest section of the trail omits over a half mile of travel on Victory Road and when incorporating the Flower Brook Trail offers a loop from our mountain side trails out to the Moose Haven section of the trail network and back without riding on the road!
  • Pete's Dragon in O'Reilly's Backyard is open! An excavated blue square trail with a few black diamond features found off of Lou Lou's, this addition gives riders yet another opportunity to progress their skills to the next level with big berms, smooth rollers, and optional jumps lines. Thank you to the Wildflower Inn for generously providing their land and the trail crew for making the trails. Enjoy!

  • Fox Run Switchbacks - The machine built blue square/intermediate switchbacks were installed on two of the steeper sections of doubletrack on Fox Run to help make the climb up easier and the descent more fun.

Projects in the works:

  • A new 3 mile loop around the Kingdom Campground has started up as phase 1 of the new expansion into the Lyndonville area. This is a work in progress that will not be completed this season.
  • Since most trail crew members have returned to school, we will begin to transition towards various maintenance projects for the latter part of the summer season.

Thank you to all for your tremendous support. We are so glad to be part of this amazing community.
