2022 KT Community Chat Series

May 10, 2022

The KT Community Chat series returns for 2022!

Dear KT Community,

We’re proud of the KT Community Chats and how much they accomplished in 2021! We got to be in community with you, hear from you, and understand the role KT has in our community. We are excited to announce the return of these gatherings, with a full slate of Community Chats now scheduled in 2022 (with one already hosted at Café Lotti back in April!).

These gatherings help keep KT’s renewed commitment of consistent communication and more accessibility to all! These will be relatively informal gatherings hosted on a monthly basis. The chats will consist of me, KT’s Community Outreach and Partnership Director, and Abby Long, our amazing Executive Director. Plus, we will always be joined by a few Board members or folks from the KT Team!

Goals of the gathering will be a chance for us to share the latest news from KT, yet the bulk of the chats will be an opportunity for KT to hear feedback from you, our community. We want to receive your thoughts, questions, and even visions for the future! KT is a community driven organization, and your voice is very important to us.

If concerns are identified through these chats, we hope to demonstrate action and responsiveness, either by addressing the issues during the gathering or following up individually with folks. If it appears to be a broader concern, our team can devote a more strategic effort. There may be times when we are unable to solve every issue or implement every suggestion, but we commit to you now that we will listen and learn.

A list of all the scheduled Community Chats for 2022 is listed below! These chats will be about an hour long and hosted at different times and locations for the remainder of the year. Please know KT will not be providing food or drink as they are designed purely to be a casual conversation.

We look forward to seeing you out there! But most of all listening and learning! We are so grateful for this community :)

Vermont State Treasurer, Mike Pieciak, speaks at the 2025 Outdoor Recreation Day at the Statehouse
By Abby Long February 13, 2025
KT is taking action—on the trails and in the Statehouse! This 2025 Legislative Session, KT is teaming up with other amazing trail organizations through the Vermont Trails & Greenway Council, to advocate for H.147 a bill to establish the Recreational Trails Compensation Study. Why does this matter? Vermont’s outdoor recreation economy generates $2.1B annually, nearly 5% of the state’s GDP, that's 2nd in the nation after Hawaii (Go VT!) KT alone drives $10M in economic impact annually. Therefore, the state must recognize and incentivize these generous private landowners, including the 106 who make KT possible and allow public access to trails.
