If you love healthy living, good times with ladies and exploring new places- then this will be an amazing trip for you!
Everyone will fly in to the Liberia airport on Dec. 8th, where we will pick you up in Carole’s big new van! Carole is our local Costa Rica friend and tour guide. She’s from Canada but has lived in Costa Rica for the last 8 years. She’s a blast to hang out with and has lots of great stories!
From there, we’ll drive to Playa Grande to kick off the tour with 2 days of surf sessions. This is a beautiful beach town with a couple of stores and restaurants. Playa Grande is a great place for beginner and experienced surfers. There, we will take lessons and then hit the surf as desired as well as dine together, yogi together, swim and explore. Ladies can be total beginner to advanced level surfers. This is an opportunity to try it if you’ve always wanted to, or hone your skills if you are an experienced surfer.
Next on our hit list is 2 days at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin. Nestled in the canopy on the side of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano this ecotourism destination is an authentic Costa Rica adventure that features the local Guanacasteco culture. It Is a working cattle and horse ranch with cool little bunkhouses and lots to do! This is where we’ll get on our bikes both to hit the local trails on the property (the owner is an avid mountain biker) and also for an epic 25km backcountry descent down the volcano all the way back to the town of Liberia over volcanic rock and across streams. In addition to the riding, we’ll also visit the hot springs with mud baths and the option for many other adventures are offered. The trails here do offer a bit of technical difficulty with some rocks and features. Nothing expert level or that can’t be walked. Guides will always give you an idea of what to expect on the rides.
And last but not least, we’ll head to the resort town of Las Catalinas for the last couple of days where we’ll live in the lap of luxury sandwiched in between a mountainside of bike trails and the beach. Here we will ride our bikes some more, on trails with a small degree of technical difficulty but somewhat challenging fitness wise, with the elevation gain of the mountainous terrain and the temperatures which will get up to upper 90’s or 100’s in the heat of the day. When we’re not riding, we’ll keep our bodies strong and limber with yoga and rejuvenate our skin with sun and swimming in one of the many infinity pools or the salt water.
On December 15th, we will once again pile in to a van and drive back to the airport to say our goodbyes to our new and old friends and head back to life with rejuvenated mojo. One of the best parts about this trip is the relationships that develop. Each woman is there because she is up for adventure and camaraderie. It’s a guarantee that you’ll come back from this trip with a fresh outlook on life and ready for anything!
