May-October: Our Welcome Center is located behind the Northeast Kingdom Country Store in East Burke Village in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. The Physical address is 478 Rte 114, East Burke, Vermont 05832
Our Welcome center in East Burke is open during the summer, 7 days a week. Summer Time Parking:
Our main summer time parking is located in a field behind the Welcome Center. After you enter the village and pass the yellow Northeast Kingdom Country Store building, look for our red signs and follow them to the parking area. On weekends, we also recommend parking 1/4 mile south of the village near the Burke Storage Units, located on the right side of Rte. 114, or at the newest parking location next to the Stepping Stone Spa on Darling Hill. There is also parking at the top of Darling Hill, next to the Inn at Mountain View. (PARKING AT THE INN AT MOUNTAIN VIEW REQUIRES A $5 PARKING FEE THAT BENEFITS THE “RESCUE ANIMAL SANCTUARY”. ) You can park at East Burke Sports, but please do not park in their “customer parking” reserved spaces if you are going out on the trails.
Please do not park in Ruby Lee’s parking lot.
Our summer time trail system basically leaves from the village and utilizes the unique glacial features of both Darling Hill Ridge and Burke Mountain, our local ski area. With very sandy loam soil on Darling Hill Ridge we are able to provide smooth winding singletrack that takes you from panoramic field views to riverside pine forests. We have multiple trails that leave from the summit of Burke Mountain that are more gravity assisted. The trails on Burke Mountain are designed to offer you great singletrack with a bit more technical feel. We build both new trails as well as enhance the ones that exist every year. Your user fee helps us do this by providing summer help and volunteer leaders to accomplish a lot of this work.
Winter Only-December through April 1 (Currently Closed) The Kingdom Trails Nordic Adventure Center is located at 2072 Darling Hill Rd. in Lyndonville across from The Wildflower Inn. When the winter network is open, the Adventure Center hours of operation are 7 days a week 8AM-4PM.
During the winter time, Kingdom Trails Members may also park at the Vermont Children’s Theatre to access the trails on Darling Hill.
